Raider Klan’s leader, SpaceGhost, bows out of the year with one last sonic offering, a 13-track mixtape BMW (Black Man’s Wealth). It features some stuff we’ve heard and been in love with/ terrified of before, like “Whole Lotta Ice” and “Swervin”, but the rest sticks pretty close to his signature sound – bleak, apocalyptic sounding basslines, teemed with his raspy drawl about popping pussy and making paper etc. All the good things in life.
Despite quite clearly sounding like the ramblings of a sociopath, pretty glad that SGP didn’t actually quit rap as threatened, cos as scary as BMW is, it’s kinda perfect for anyone who wants to just think about dystopia and prepare themselves for the end of the world. Happy Holidays guyz!
