Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says Canada supports President Donald Trump’s “limited and focused action” in Syria after the US fired more than 50 missiles into the country in retaliation for this week’s chemical weapons attack.
That attack, launched by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, left at least 80 dead, including 30 children.

Trudeau denounced Syria’s use of chemical weapons saying “these gruesome attacks cannot be permitted to continue operating with impunity.”

Both Russia and Iran denounced the US strikes.
Canada had no involvement in the US attack, according to National Defence.
