The 17th edition of Montreal’s MUTEK Festival returns to the city’s Quartier des Spectacles and the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal (MAC) for another year of cutting-edge electronic music. Running from June 1–5, the festival continues its focus on live performances, with events running all day and night at various indoor and outdoor venues.
Today the first wave of artists were announced, including Tim Hecker, Planet Mu signee Jlin, Galcher Lustwerk, Project Pablo, and Montreal’s own Kara-Lis Coverdale. German techno jazz duo Flanger are debuting a new live show, and London’s Powell is set to premiere a set of “dirty body music.”
