Hip-hop royalty Jay Z and Beyoncé hit Yeezus merch designer and artist Wes Lang‘s art event, The Longest Night Of the Year, over the weekend at Milk Studios in Los Angeles, getting pasted all over Instagram in the process. Jay Z’s break from evangelizing for TIDAL saw him knocking rings with Lang, whose work you can glimpse in the image above, all the while demonstrating why the selfie stick ban spreading through museums—and now Disneyland—is irrelevant. Follow Beyoncé’s lead, and just bring a friend.
Jay and Bey are known to have an extensive art collection, and letting sister Solange take their daughter to the occasional museum, so seeing them at an art gallery is no surprise, but it’s always refreshing to see the bridge between art and hip-hop grow stronger, one night out at a time.
