Former World Series champion, up-and-coming sportscaster, and Father of the Year Alex Rodriguez is set to add yet another title to his glowing resume: reality TV host.
CNBC announced the pilot order along with a batch of series renewals and new projects on Tuesday. Rodriguez’s show, tentatively titled Back in the Game, will pair financially struggling former athletes with “money-savvy mentors who can help them get back on their feet.”

“Whether the game plan involves launching a second career, starting a new business, or just finding a way out of crushing debt, the mentors are ready to guide these former stars to their next great play. But after years of living large, will they be willing to listen to their new coach?”
Rodriguez will be teaming up with yet another retired New York athlete-slash-Renaissance Man, Michael Strahan, who is on board as executive producer.
If anybody can teach athletes how to keep earning and burning, it’s the former Yankees third baseman. A-Rod Corp™ is one of the hottest up-and-coming businesses on the planet. The company crushed it during the holiday season by selling polo shirts.
So watch out, Jim Cramer, because there’s a new star in the world of finance-based TV shows.
