A Day After Returning From His Stag Do, V8 Supercars Driver Jamie Whincup Canned His Wedding

Traditionally, a stag do is a groom’s last big blow-out before heading into married life.

He’ll get a few of the boys in the mix, sink some jars and have a few laughs. Things can escalate, sure, but a blow-out is a blow-out; the serious stuff is just around the corner.

Six-time V8 Supercars champion Jamie Whincup recently had his stag do, ahead of his wedding with long-time partner Courtney Nicholson. But according to The Daily Telegraph, the star driver pulled pin on the wedding the day before the wedding – and a day after the bachelor party.

The wedding had been paid in full, as had a “dream” wedding dress for Nicholson, yet Whincup put the brakes on married life.

“We are just two people who have decided not to be together any more and that’s all I can say about it really,” Whincup said, in a statement. “In terms of my personal life I prefer to keep that private.”

Nicholson was asked to explain the situation, but replied: “I hope you can understand but I would prefer not to tell my story.”
